TURKEY SEASON Cast and Blast

We operate FISTFUL sportfishing under the name ALBEMARLE OUTFITTERS..As a full service outfitter we offer it all and spend every day outside on the water or in the woods…For those of you who do not know, Karl is a very accomplished caller and has 4 state championship duck calling contests to prove it as well as 30 plus other turkey , swan and goose calling contests. He took his first paying party of hunters at the ripe age of 15..His first hunters then I am proud to say are still hunting and fishing with him now…With turkey season quickly aproaching we have very limted days available to hunt..Just wanted to let everyone know that we do have 4 two day hunts left.We only do a maximum of 14 turkey hunts to assure we give you the best chance for your spring gobbler.WE DONT PUT YOU IN A GROUND BLIND AND MAKE YOU SIT AROUND FOR A TURKEY.We go to them and call them in like its suppost to be done either off the tree or by locating and pursuit..The cast and blast deal covers your hunting in the morning and light tackle rockfishing in the afternoon on the Albemarle sound..Max 2 hunters per trip and a two day minimum.

The rock in the river are starting to pop!  Incredible action a few days ago and good stuff today… still a bit hit or miss but it is so good to see them start to show up already!  Hopefully the nice spring-like weather today will start to be a habit and we are seeing this year’s crazy cold winter lose its foothold… We are still booking spring river and sound trips that target these athletic fish on light tackle – SUPER FUN!!  Packages are available with or without lodging… pick your dates and give us a call!

After running all over creation… whale watching… chasing birds… tons of bait balls with no fish… we finally found a few!  And thankful for them!  It was slow going today… lots of patience and looking… but you couldn’t ask for a prettier day on the water 🙂

After the light tackle fun – we headed back to the beach… got lucky enough to fill the box… chatted with our local USCG for a friendly safety inspection… and headed back home… thankful for such an incredible day during a “hit or miss” time of the season!!  (Our charter had to cancel at the last minute so we headed out anyway – glad we did!!  Sorry guys if you are looking at this report… you never know when the good days will be…. we’ll go get ’em on the next trip!)

(p.s….Rob and Timbo – Thank you so much!! You guys are always a blast and awesome to fish with…you make it so fun and way easy!!!)

CRAZY FUN catch and release action with light tackle!!!  The rock were boiling on top this morning, chasing terrified little cigar size minnows all around and under the boat… they were eating everything in sight!  Always an impressive thing to see these fish on top of the water… and no birds around this go. ( You never know!)  Several nice fish went back in the water… most were in the 20 to 35 pound range with one nice 40 pound fish on a BG15 with 12 pound test… FUN STUFF!!!
