September 13 Full Day Offshore
/in Outer Banks Fishing Reports, Uncategorized/by kathyTHIS is what fall fishing is all about!! We were fortunate enough to have a wonderful long time friend on board today with his family and man did they pick a great day to go!! FANTASTIC weather… AWESOME fishing… UNBEATABLE company… Paul – We can’t thank you enough for your all your support… Rudy, Fred, Shawn, Brad, and Dan… so nice to meet you all!! The beer was flowing and the fish were biting… What more could you ask for?! The BLACKFIN hit first thing and kept everybody reeling to get these feisty guys to the boat… close to a dozen of the smaller fish went back in to grow another season but not without giving the boys a sporty fight first! The largest went straight into the box.. And then the DOLPHIN!!! Fantastic class of bailers and hoisters with several gaffers thrown in the mix… don’t forget the two token albacore, the sharks, and the sailfish jumping around… Thank you guys for an incredible day! Have a blast at the wedding and we hope to see you all again soon 🙂

/in Outer Banks Fishing Reports, Uncategorized/by kathyWith the inlet roaring this morning and only predicted to get more adventurous with the tide change, it was decided to stay in the sound today… Plenty of fun, sun, beautiful water and a nice class of blue fish plus some spanish mackerel to keep our main angler busy! GREAT JOB MICHAEL!! Thank you guys so much for a fantastic trip!!

Limit of dolphin plus a White Marlin – WAY TO GO FELLAS!! We can’t wait til Rock Season… looking forward to seeing you again!!! September 2 Nearshore
/in Outer Banks Fishing Reports, Uncategorized/by kathyA fantastic group today! The water is clearing up after our friend Irene and the inlet is bigger than it’s been in a while… these guys ventured out in the ocean for a bit then back to the sound for some light tackle fun… Great to meet you all and thanks for a wonderful trip! Have a safe trip home 🙂 Hope to see you next year!
Hurricane Irene…bye bye :)
/in Outer Banks Fishing Reports, Uncategorized/by kathyThe Fistful boat is thankfully safe and sound… as are many of our fellow charter fleet friends. We are all fortunate to have dodged a big bullet with this one… hurricanes are part of life on the water but never a welcomed part and always nerve racking! The last several days have been filled with preparation for the storm, hauling out, getting ready, plus lots of nail biting followed by a huge sigh of relief and now putting all the pieces back together. We are close to getting back in the water – tons of clean up and debris removal out of the canals and creeks that feed into the boat yards are part of the deal and a big thank you to everyone that has been and is working so hard to keep our livelihood afloat. The marine industry is a very important part of the Outer Banks and we are thankful to be a part of such a fantastic group of people… hard working and always with a positive attitude! Our thoughts are with our neighbors that suffered alot more damage than we did and we are all fortunate that this thing didn’t do what it was forecasted to do. The charter boats will be back in full swing in the next day or two… fishing is always awesome after these storms so don’t hesitate to get back out there! We will be up and running as soon as the creek is clear to get out… give us a call and take a break from the crazy aftermath – let’s go fishing!
August 21
/in Outer Banks Fishing Reports, Uncategorized/by kathyYou never know what the water conditions and temps are going to do… we try very hard to let everybody know that half-day nearshore trips are targeting the smaller species such as bluefish and spanish mackerel. We just do not have enough time to get you to where the gulf stream species live…. please do not expect to find the type of fish that typically require an all-day, go to the gulf stream, 30 to 50 mile adventure to bring home….. and then you have a day like today! Pip… you are one lucky b…. Limit of bailer dolphin on the beach plus a nice gaffer bite – all on a 4 1/2 hour NEARSHORE trip… if only this would happen every day!! Thank you guys so much for an awesome trip and hope everybody didn’t hurt too bad the next am!!
