First billfish of the year..A white marlin..Had a blue one hooked for a bit but he was on the wrong pole..Ended up with a nice catch of gaffer dolphin and some pretty yellowin tuna..Happy to be fishing..

Hatteras Dolphin
A huge Thank You to Mike and the crew…. what a fantastic group!!! You guys are a blast! We thoroughly enjoyed having you all on the boat and hope to see you again soon…. let us know how that “mahi special” turns out!!! 🙂
Hatteras Update
The Fistful headed to Hatteras Village chasing the fish!! We have been fortunate to enjoy some fantastic fishing with great groups! Dolphin fishing has been off the hook with the bonus of an “almost” grand slam – caught 1 white, jumped off a sail, and had a blue one in the spread on the way south last week! The Cobia fishing has been hopping as well with plenty of mackerel and bluefish to play with while looking for the big fish. Our internet access is sketchy at best down there so here’s a quick picture update from some of the last week’s trips… 🙂 Thanks everybody!!!
Official Start to Summer
We had an awesome collegiate group to kick off the official start of summer today!! Despite the sporty seas and showers they did an incredible job getting in the fish!! This shot is from the ride in… fantastic folks like this make any day fun!! Thank you all so much and great job!!

Dolphin Day
What better way to kick off the upcoming fishing season than to load up the dolphin with “Team Helmkamp”!! Congratulations and great job John, Dougie, Chris, and Scott!!! Thank you so much for coming down and fishing with us… you made the day!! Only 2 more days of Turkey season left to go then it’s officially time to fish…. LETS GO FISHING EVERYBODY!!
Spring Rock
It seemed like winter would never loosen her grip on North Carolina but she finally has backed off a bit… and just in time! Spring time is Rockfish time and we have had several fantastic groups that braved the chilly “pre-spring” weather to target these super fun fish…. Thanks to everyone!!!
Update :)
The Fistful has continued to chase the Spanish, Blues, and other nearshore species with some fantastic folks this week…. lots of fun and great fishing for everyone! A big thank you to all our groups!! We did have a day off at the end of the week and were fortunate enough to be able to go Offshore with an awesome friend and fellow hunter/angler to get into a little Marlin action! Thank you so much Mike!!!!! What a great day!
