What a hard working group of young anglers (and grown-ups too!)… The dolphin are cooperating and staying close to shore – thankfully within range for a Full Day trip. Our youngsters toughed out some sporty seas and worked like crazy to get a lot of nice fish to the boat… Fantastic job everybody!! Thank you all so much!
What a great day we had.Quenton my homeboy from gates county was on the boat today.Quenton always seems to getem when he comes with us..Thank you for all the support..We ended up with a great catch of gaffers baffers and bailers along with a 40 lb wahoo and our first billfish of the year.A cool surprise a HATCHET marlin which is easly mistaken for a white marlin..Glad for the beatiful weather and great fishing in our range..

With no charters scheduled today we decided to venture off for a family fun trip before the summer gets too busy for everyone to go… It was a sporty day for dolphin with all the schools hanging out under a ton of scattered grass…. lots of time spent cleaning up the spread but despite all that plus an afternoon gulfstream dive by the Capt and Mate under the boat to free up the wheel from a monster knot of rope…everybody came home with plenty to eat! A special thank you to Pop John, Uncle Dougie, and Madison for going with us 🙂
Our Virginia Beach crowd wanted to target the dolphin today and they did a fantastic job getting these fish to the boat when it was time to go to work!! Way to go everybody!! And a special pat on the back to our young anglers Clara and Katie – what a great job!! Beth and Kevin, Ben and David… Thank you all so much!! What a fun day and we hope to see you guys back soon! This year we have added a new trip to the repertoire – a “Deep Water Bottom Fishing/Trolling Trip“. This Extended Full Day trip is designed to allow for the time and fuel required to venture a bit further from the beach than we are able to do during the conventional NearShore trips. This will provide for the opportunity to specifically target different species such as dolphin (mahi mahi) and bottom dwellers. It is not a classic deep water gulfstream trip – more of an “in-between” and provides the experience of fishing for a wider selection of species in a budget-minded package… We will have the “Trips and Rates” page updated shortly to provide more information… Let’s go fishing!
The Fistful is up for a quick spring haul out… getting ready for this year’s season!! New zincs, some clean up, and a little wax and she’ll be back in the water ready to go 🙂 The days are getting longer and the warm summer fishing season is fast approaching… We are saving days already – give us a shout if you know your desired dates and we’ll get you on the book! THIS is what fall fishing is all about!! We were fortunate enough to have a wonderful long time friend on board today with his family and man did they pick a great day to go!! FANTASTIC weather… AWESOME fishing… UNBEATABLE company… Paul – We can’t thank you enough for your all your support… Rudy, Fred, Shawn, Brad, and Dan… so nice to meet you all!! The beer was flowing and the fish were biting… What more could you ask for?! The BLACKFIN hit first thing and kept everybody reeling to get these feisty guys to the boat… close to a dozen of the smaller fish went back in to grow another season but not without giving the boys a sporty fight first! The largest went straight into the box.. And then the DOLPHIN!!! Fantastic class of bailers and hoisters with several gaffers thrown in the mix… don’t forget the two token albacore, the sharks, and the sailfish jumping around… Thank you guys for an incredible day! Have a blast at the wedding and we hope to see you all again soon 🙂
You never know what the water conditions and temps are going to do… we try very hard to let everybody know that half-day nearshore trips are targeting the smaller species such as bluefish and spanish mackerel. We just do not have enough time to get you to where the gulf stream species live…. please do not expect to find the type of fish that typically require an all-day, go to the gulf stream, 30 to 50 mile adventure to bring home….. and then you have a day like today! Pip… you are one lucky b…. Limit of bailer dolphin on the beach plus a nice gaffer bite – all on a 4 1/2 hour NEARSHORE trip… if only this would happen every day!! Thank you guys so much for an awesome trip and hope everybody didn’t hurt too bad the next am!!
Our three-quarter group today got to experience something that rarely happens… dolphin on the beach! The weather couldn’t have been nicer for these folks and the fishing was awesome!! Gaffer dolphin within site of the beach? Days like today are wonderful and spoil us rotten! Several nice fish right along.. we pulled a few off after these guys got to reel and get a feel for what they were fighting… they got the hang of it quick and rapidly put plenty of meat in the box… Pretty work everybody!! It was great to meet you all and hope we get to see you again!! Thanks for a fantastic day!
