June 29th report

Man we have been on a roll lately fishing everyday.. Thank you to everybody for fishing with us..If we did not get your picture up and you want to see it on the site please send me an email…Bottom line fishing was great today..We had two half days and with the fish being a little south of the half day range as they where today we are able to offer 1 to 2 extra hours for $100 per hour to make the fuel and time work out and PUT YOU IN THE MEAT…Everybody on both trips made the right call and off we went..Multiple bendos over and over in the morning when we arrived and we fished for just two hours before acheiving a limt. What great fishing..We arrived back on seen in the afternoon to find our fish were not there. After searching for an hour we ran into them and worped it in them until my boys down below said they had enough.A limit of adult beverages also met there match..Thanks again to everyone for everything..Open dates next ten days July 1st, 2nd , 3rd pm, 4 pm , 5 pm , 9 , 10

Commercial Dolphin Day

The weather and the schedule somehow worked out perfectly to give us a day to slip out and do a little commercial fishing.  Usually a family trip, today we took our neighbor’s friend Greg (down from PA visiting for a few days) out with us for his first adventure with dolphin fishing… little did he know how much work he was in for! (Great job btw!!) We were fortunate enough to find the bailers (although way offshore…) plus one nice citation size gaffer.  The weather was wonderful and made for a fantastic day.  Just another word of thanks to “Outer Banks Catch” for increasing public awareness of the importance and quality of our local seafood and to all the restaurants that support the commercial fishermen of the Outer Banks by purchasing truly fresh, locally caught fish…We appreciate all of you so much!

Missouri’s Major party june 7th

Wow we had a crazy bunch with us today…You guys are great…The beers, bloody marys, and momosas where flowing when I stopped the boat this morning…Shortly after setting out the third pole the first two where over..It was good action for us..After catching all they wanted of spanish we made our way off the beach in search of a bigger fish..We never found one but did catch a couple of Bonitas..I think everyone will agree a good time was had by all.

Q and crew last trip in Hatteras 2011

We set out exactly where we left from the day before..When we arrived a condition had formed up in a little bit shallower water than the blank water we would have been fishing the day before..We fished around for several hours until noon picking at the gaffers..The word on the radio was grim and we had one of the better catches of the fleet..So I gave my crew the option to go inshore and catch some spanish and look for a cobia..My boys here like bent poles so off we went..On the way in in 4 fathoms we saw a sailfish..Ran him right over.Pretty cool.Got to the hook and there where acres of spanish..We made quick work of a limit and they where classy fish..Arriving to the dock we made the right call.

SSSSSSSSSSSSS

We had the one and only S.W EARLY aka SSSSSSSSSSSS on the boat today for some gaffer action..We found a really nice spot of water close to the beach late in the day and wound up with a good catch of mahi between HANDSHAKES…Really good class of fish for the most part being true gaffers..We did have one 30 pounder make a daring escape jumping off the cockpit floor and into the ocean..Robert was not happy…We all had a great day..

May 22nd Hatteras

Today we took a family trip offshore in hopes of having a good catch to sale as well as taking Abigail on her first real offshore adventure..She did great and the weather could not have been any better..Flat calm and blue skies all day…As well as great fishing…We were fortunate enough to find some bigger patches of grass way out in the deep in 110 fathoms that were holding some good charges of gaffer golphin..We not only had a great family day but were able to make th most out of our efforts… I left my camera behind on the boat and will update all the catches and charters when I return. These are all pictures Kathy had on her camera..

May 20th Hatteras report

We had a good bunch of guys along with us today..The day started on a blue green change running west to east in 20 fathoms..I fished up into a pretty good head sea in the morning away from more than 30 other boats taking the down sea path..Shortly after setting out we got covered up by the gaffer dolphin and it would remain that way all day until the box was full.We ended up with a great cath of bigger gaffers and 2 king mackeral..Glad everyone had a great day and will see you soon..

Gaffer dolphin fishing Hatteras

Spring Cleaning

It finally feels like spring time! The Fistful is out of the water for a few days… a little bottom paint, some wax, and a few maintenance chores and we will be ready to head south to Hatteras… Our days are starting to fill up with Offshore (Full day) and Nearshore (Half, 3/4, and Full Day) Trips… “Dracula can see his reflection on her”
