Summer Fishing is here!!!

And just like that we are almost through June!  Tons to catch up on! The fishing has been incredible!!! TUNA to start then our favorite pals the MAHI showed up to join in plus several guest appearances by our BILLFISH buddies!!  Blue Marlin, White Marlin, and Sails!!! A huge thank you to all of our anglers!!!!  We have the absolute BEST guys and gals and kiddos as part of our fishing family!!!  What a blast it has been so far with everyone – you make this job amazing and so much fun!!  A giant thank you also to our fill in mate NOAH while Ellis was participating in the BIG ROCK – nice job kiddo!! (not really a kiddo anymore… how do they grow up so fast?!?)  So many accomplishments already this season and the latest – the coveted GRAND SLAM! Congratulations to Mitch and his crew for their BLUE MARLIN, WHITE MARLIN, and SAILFISH all caught and released on a single trip!!  That doesn’t happen often and to be able to be part of such a special feat… especially on a drop dead gorgeous day on the water… is a memory for a lifetime!  Pretty work gang!! Summer is just getting started… LET’S GO FISHING!!!!!

Awesome Summer Fishing!

Summer rolls on and the fishing continues to be awesome!  Mostly Offshore this past week – Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Tiles, and Billfish are on the main menu with a few Tuna, some Amberjack, Wahoo and one Giant Pink Flamingo (what tha????!! Pretty work Jess!!) thrown in!!  Nearshore trips are smacking the Ribbons plus Spanish and King Mackeral, Drum and an occasional Cobia!  Don’t miss out… late summer/early fall is typically fantastic fishing and the scorching heat starts to settle down into super comfortable weather… September is BILLFISH season and the marlin are already starting to show!! Let’s go fishing!!

   

The Billfish have arrived!

The last 10 days have been wide open with the Tournament (What an awesome good time!!!! A HUGE thank you to our team – Glenn, Wes, Davis – you guys are fantastic and so much fun – way to go!!!) and our charters – great weather and great fishing!!  A special congratulations to Connor on his first Sailfish (Go kiddo!!) and of course no pictures – but awesome work to Joe for the 6 1/2 hour fight with the Blue Marlin of a lifetime – estimates are over 800 pounds – she ate a 60 pound yellowfin tuna like it was a grape and pulled the boys almost 13 miles east before she decided she was done with us and snapped the line!! What an experience and wow what a tale!!  Needless to say – The billfish are here – Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sails oh my!  We have openings but they are filling up… give us a call if you want to get out there before these amazing creatures move on for the winter!  Our nearshore trips are happening as well – Spanish and bluefish and tons of bottom fish – lots of fun and yummy too!  Let’s go fishing!!

Tournament Time!!

It’s that time of year!!  The tournaments are in full swing and this week is the biggie at Pirates’ Cove… Good luck to all our Lady Anglers fishing the Alice Kelly Memorial Tournament today (Sunday… Go Fistful Girls!!) and another Good Luck to everyone in the Billfish Tournament!! (Go Team Fistful!!)  The marina will be a flurry of activity all week – fishing starts on Tuesday and will continue through Friday.  This is a PUBLIC EVENT and EVERYONE IS WELCOME! Marlin and Dolphin!

Had the Corbo boys with us again today as well as Tony Corbos girlfriend..She’s never been fishing before today..Pretty good first fish for her catching a white marlin..We ended up with three whites and 3 nice dolphin.Thats a white and a dolphin for everyone..Clean fishing there folks.Thanks guys can’t wait for next time…

Marlin Mania :)

We had the rare opportunity to get to spend the day with one of our most special friends….Thank you so much Charles!!!  Karl and I don’t get much chance to actually fish with each other these days… We don’t know how to act being back in the cockpit together!  One of the best days ever 🙂  10 Whites!!!  With unbelievable weather and sea conditions and incredible company… there is nothing that would have made this day any better.  The marlin are still here… Now is the time to go if catching one of these marvelous creatures is on your list!!

Hatteras Update

The Fistful headed to Hatteras Village chasing the fish!!  We have been fortunate to enjoy some fantastic fishing with great groups!  Dolphin fishing has been off the hook with the bonus of an “almost” grand slam – caught 1 white, jumped off a sail, and had a blue one in the spread on the way south last week!  The Cobia fishing has been hopping as well with plenty of mackerel and bluefish to play with while looking for the big fish.  Our internet access is sketchy at best down there so here’s a quick picture update from some of the last week’s trips…  🙂  Thanks everybody!!!

The Fistful has continued to chase the Spanish, Blues, and other nearshore species with some fantastic folks this week…. lots of fun and great fishing for everyone!  A big thank you to all our groups!!  We did have a day off at the end of the week and were fortunate enough to be able to go Offshore with an awesome friend and fellow hunter/angler to get into a little Marlin action!  Thank you so much Mike!!!!!  What a great day!
