As we roll into mid June the fishing continues to be fantastic! A mixed bag of trips and fish this past week – from Half Day Nearshore to Full Day Offshore… and everything in between. Dolphin… Tuna… Mackerel… Blues… Tons of fun with awesome people!! Thanks everybody!! The last 2 weeks of June are filling fast… give us a shout if you want to go!!

As the commercial Bluefin season winds down we are gearing up for Spring Turkey and then on to the Summer Fishing Season!!!! Tons of excitement already this year starting with the close of an awesome waterfowl season (Thanks again to everybody! We miss you all already!! 😥 ), continued work on the farms to get ready for next year, great sound rockfish trips, the quickly approaching spring and all the fun that season brings, and then of course – summertime! Despite the sporty seas and scrappy fishing Al and Ben did an awesome job bringing home dinner!! Thank you both so much… Ben it was wonderful to meet you and Sal….. always a blast!!

First billfish of the year..A white marlin..Had a blue one hooked for a bit but he was on the wrong pole..Ended up with a nice catch of gaffer dolphin and some pretty yellowin tuna..Happy to be fishing..
The Fistful headed to Hatteras Village chasing the fish!! We have been fortunate to enjoy some fantastic fishing with great groups! Dolphin fishing has been off the hook with the bonus of an “almost” grand slam – caught 1 white, jumped off a sail, and had a blue one in the spread on the way south last week! The Cobia fishing has been hopping as well with plenty of mackerel and bluefish to play with while looking for the big fish. Our internet access is sketchy at best down there so here’s a quick picture update from some of the last week’s trips… 🙂 Thanks everybody!!!
Sunset over pirates cove marina… Weather is shaping up with reports of fish on the beach… summer is on the horizon…
We took a break from the near-shore scene and headed offshore with the rest of the fleet and private boats to participate in the Alice Kelly benefit tournament today… always a great time!! Tons of fun and supporting a great cause all at one go 🙂 Thanks to Tiffany, Holly, and Shanna for joining us to participate in this all women’s tournament!! We didn’t get into the billfish bite like we were hoping to but in true Fistful style brought in some meat and had a ball!! The Pirate’s Cove Billfish Tournament is going on all week… everyone is always welcome to come down, walk the docks, and be a part of this annual event!!
The Fistful is up for a quick spring haul out… getting ready for this year’s season!! New zincs, some clean up, and a little wax and she’ll be back in the water ready to go 🙂 The days are getting longer and the warm summer fishing season is fast approaching… We are saving days already – give us a shout if you know your desired dates and we’ll get you on the book!
