Duck Season in full swing…
It’s turning out to be an awesome season! Nice ducks, big ducks… liking all this COLD weather!

The cold weather is pushing the ducks hard to the south… always a great time with you guys!! Awesome hunt! Thanks Mike and Mark!
Early Christmas…
It is typically the end of December or First of the Year before we start to see the ocean rockfish migration get down our way; however, Christmas may be here early this year! Reports from our neighboring Virginians and several North Carolina boats include nice catches of these impressive fish with several citations already brought to the docks! The schools are scattered and still predominately in the northern waters but should follow the bait south as the month goes on. We are busy this time of year with our guide service (deer and waterfowl) so we have had little time to see for ourselves but will keep track of what’s going on through the rest of the fleet…the water temperature is getting right though and everyone is hopeful for an early arrival this season!

Teal, Mallard, Gadwal, Widgeon, Ringneck, Wood Duck, and Bufflehead…and one awesome breakfast! Glad for the good hunting… Thanks so much guys for all your support over the years… whoa whoa whoa yeah babe!
Happy Thanksgiving!
This time of the year we all seem to do a little better job of slowing down and remembering all that we have to be thankful for… we should strive to do that all year, not just over the holidays. Family, friends, health, mother nature and all she provides, the hunters and anglers we get to spend time with, good weather days, happiness and so much more can all be taken for granted so easily… we are so thankful for all we have and all the wonderful things in our lives. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
Ducks and Albemarle Outfitters
This is the time of year the Fistful boat gets a little rest while Karl spends most of his time on the water pursuing a different variety of North Carolina’s wildlife. Duck Season is here and is proving to be a bountiful one so far. The migration to the south is up and running and fortunately we are seeing the results of all the cold weather hitting our friends up north. Teal (Green Wing mostly plus a few Blue Wing), Widgeon, Wood Ducks, Mallards, Pintail, Ringnecks, Gadwal, Merganser, Canvasbacks and more are all here…(in addition to tons of Swan and Geese.) A few days are still left (but not many) for December and January.. pictures and information can be found on our “facebook” page under “Albemarle Outfitters”. ROCKFISH on the way…
Time to start thinking about the BIG rock! They are on the way…we are looking forward to this year’s arrival… This is always one of our favorite times of the year! We have just a few days left available in January and several dates still open in February (but they are starting to fill up…)… Let us know as soon as possible so we can hold the date. Inland Rockfish
Rockfishing in the sound is picking up! Lots of nice fish…plenty of action. All our rockfish are caught with light tackle – trolling, casting, or jigging. Light equipment adds to the excitement and what a meal these guys make!

Commercial day for us this time…Plenty of dolphin and some tuna as well. Pretty day!
