August Fishing!

As we roll on through August we have had a variety of fun this past week – Our kick off was the Alice Kelly tournament – always a blast and what a great cause!  The marina was buzzing all week with the Pirate’s Cove Big Game Tournament – Congratulations to all the teams!!  We had Nearshore trips for Spanish and Blues – Tons of fun for the kids!  And our Offshore trips were spent chasing down the Dolphin and Tiles… YUM!  Thank you so much to everyone!!  We have a few spots open in the next few weeks before we change gears and start chasing ducks… Give us a call to get in on all the fun!!

Summer fishing rolls on!!

A huge Thank You to all our anglers the last couple of weeks!  Pretty work everybody!!!   OFFSHORE FULL DAY trips are finding Dolphin (mahi mahi), Tiles, Sea Bass, Triggers, and more plus our Billfish are starting to show up!!  Our 4 and 6 hours groups are after Drum, Mackerel, Cobia, Ribbons, Shark and even a Rattlesnake!?!? You never know!  The weather has been awesome all summer until several days ago – Mother Nature kept us at the dock for a few days but she is straightening back out now and it’s time to go!!!  Thanks again everybody…. always a blast to fish with all our anglers!!  A few days opened up for us this coming week – give us a call and join in on all the fun!

     

Lucky to have this 1 , he was not hooked very good..Fish was really green and Casey ripped him over the side as the bucktail popped out of his mouth.Fish made our morning .We will take it..

June summary – amazing fishing!

We are rolling into July with unbelievable weather and equally fantastic fishing!!  The past week has been full of dolphin and tuna plus tiles and more on our Fullday Offshore trips and Spanish and Blues with a few Cobia still mixed in for our 4 and 6 hour trips… and as always –  incredible groups to spend the day with!!  Our 2 big fish of the week were a 124 pound Yellowfin Tuna and a 195 pound Bigeye Tuna plus the first Wahoo of the season –  Pretty work everybody!  Slick calm conditions and crazy active marine life makes you catch your breath and say thank you… every day.  Congratulations and thank you to all our anglers – you make what we do so special!

    

Cobia, Dolphin, Tiles, and Drum… Oh my!

Fishing has been amazing this week!!! Thank you so much everybody!!!  We have the afternoon on Thursday (06/14) open for a quick 4 hour nearshore trip (Mackeral, Bluefish, Cobia, Drum) and Tuesday (next week – 06/19) is open for any length trip (4, 6, or FULL day) if anyone is interested – Let’s go fishing!!

     

 

 

Cobia, Tiles, Mahi and more!

It has been an incredible start to our 2018 season… the COBIA are thick, the RED DRUM are around, the dolphin (MAHI MAHI) have started to show and the TILES are hungry!!  Thank you so much to all our trips this week… you guys are awesome!!!  Congratulations to 7 year old B for his first (several) COBIA!!! Way to go kiddo!!!  It’s time to fish!!!

The COBIA are here!! We have had an incredible week with these awesome fish!!  Thank you so much to all our groups… so much fun!!

 

The cobia fishing has been phenomenal so far with several days catching and releasing dozens after we get our limit… we are part of the North Carolina tagging program which provides information as to what our Cobia population is doing – this gives us a great opportunity to see multiple fish up close while contributing to their continued well being.  We still have a few days left open the last 2 weeks of June but they are filling fast…. Give us a call if you have any interest before these fish move north!

    

Back to the meat for a minute!

We had a few days to get back to it between the tournament and the weather and these guys are all about dinner… Thank you so much!!  It is always so fun to have you guys back!!!  We’ve been working on prepping for the next season (moving on to feathers shortly…) during this nasty weather but should back on the water once it clears and will fish until September 19th… give us call if you want to get out there before its done!

The Billfish have arrived!

The last 10 days have been wide open with the Tournament (What an awesome good time!!!! A HUGE thank you to our team – Glenn, Wes, Davis – you guys are fantastic and so much fun – way to go!!!) and our charters – great weather and great fishing!!  A special congratulations to Connor on his first Sailfish (Go kiddo!!) and of course no pictures – but awesome work to Joe for the 6 1/2 hour fight with the Blue Marlin of a lifetime – estimates are over 800 pounds – she ate a 60 pound yellowfin tuna like it was a grape and pulled the boys almost 13 miles east before she decided she was done with us and snapped the line!! What an experience and wow what a tale!!  Needless to say – The billfish are here – Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sails oh my!  We have openings but they are filling up… give us a call if you want to get out there before these amazing creatures move on for the winter!  Our nearshore trips are happening as well – Spanish and bluefish and tons of bottom fish – lots of fun and yummy too!  Let’s go fishing!!

AWESOME JULY!!

I am not sure where to start… the last half of July has provided an amazing variety of crazy fun fishing with so many great groups!!  We appreciate everyone so much and also appreciate the fantastic fishing that our area has to offer during these summer months… we are so thankful to be able to call the Outer Banks home.  Our trips have predominately been Nearshore the last few weeks and the species all across the board – Kingfish, Triggers, Tiles, Spanish mackerel (we had 2 6 pound plus citation Spanish in 1 week!! check out the pic below…), Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Albecore, Amberjack, Cobia, Red Drum, and more.  This time of year you never know what you will see out there and everyday can be different – so much fun!!  August is booking up quickly so please give us a call if you want to go… Time to go fishing!!!

   

July Fishing!

The last week has been full with half and 3/4 day trips – So much fun for everybody!!  The Red Drum have shown up to provide tons of Catch and Release action, the Spanish and King Mackerel fishing has been awesome, the Amberjacks gave one of our regular crews a great workout (no more gym before fishing next time Keith!!) and we’ve even seen a few dolphin on the short trips!  We got to take several fantastic youth anglers and had a blast with all our groups – thank you so much!!  One quick peek at some green and yellow starting to come together for fall… the next season will be here before we know it but until then it’s time to get on the water and catch em up!  Thanks again everybody!!
