June 1 Dolphin :)
/in Outer Banks Fishing Reports, Uncategorized/by kathyWith no charters scheduled today we decided to venture off for a family fun trip before the summer gets too busy for everyone to go… It was a sporty day for dolphin with all the schools hanging out under a ton of scattered grass…. lots of time spent cleaning up the spread but despite all that plus an afternoon gulfstream dive by the Capt and Mate under the boat to free up the wheel from a monster knot of rope…everybody came home with plenty to eat! A special thank you to Pop John, Uncle Dougie, and Madison for going with us 🙂
Memorial Day Dolphin :)
/in Outer Banks Fishing Reports, Uncategorized/by kathyOur Virginia Beach crowd wanted to target the dolphin today and they did a fantastic job getting these fish to the boat when it was time to go to work!! Way to go everybody!! And a special pat on the back to our young anglers Clara and Katie – what a great job!! Beth and Kevin, Ben and David… Thank you all so much!! What a fun day and we hope to see you guys back soon! Happy Memorial Day to everyone… A huge Thank You to all our veterans past and present for the tremendous sacrifices and amazing job you all do for the rest of us… you are heroes and are incredibly appreciated.
Back to the Cove
/in Outer Banks Fishing Reports, Uncategorized/by kathyBack in the water and ready for the season! Shiny and even a fresh coat of bottom paint 🙂
This year we have added a new trip to the repertoire – a “Deep Water Bottom Fishing/Trolling Trip“. This Extended Full Day trip is designed to allow for the time and fuel required to venture a bit further from the beach than we are able to do during the conventional NearShore trips. This will provide for the opportunity to specifically target different species such as dolphin (mahi mahi) and bottom dwellers. It is not a classic deep water gulfstream trip – more of an “in-between” and provides the experience of fishing for a wider selection of species in a budget-minded package… We will have the “Trips and Rates” page updated shortly to provide more information… Let’s go fishing!
Spring Haul Out
/in Outer Banks Fishing Reports, Uncategorized/by kathyThe Fistful is up for a quick spring haul out… getting ready for this year’s season!! New zincs, some clean up, and a little wax and she’ll be back in the water ready to go 🙂 The days are getting longer and the warm summer fishing season is fast approaching… We are saving days already – give us a shout if you know your desired dates and we’ll get you on the book! Thanks to everyone for all the support!! We are looking forward to another awesome season with everybody!!
Spring is almost here!!
/in Outer Banks Fishing Reports, Uncategorized/by kathyIt sounds a little silly to say “almost here” with the wonderful weather we have had this winter. Early spring is proving to shape up just as nice!! The sound rockfish are biting and it’s a fantastic excuse to get the whole family out on the water… 4 year old daughter Abbie has been practicing hard and has now mastered casting a spinning reel… She is moving on to tell Karl exactly where to go to find the fish these days!! 🙂 Don’t forget…Spring Turkey season is right around the corner… less than a month away! This is yet another favorite time of the year – a wonderful time to be on the boat and in the woods! Looking for to seeing everybody this spring!!!
