Summer fishing continues to be HOT!! A few weather days and the boys are back at it again… Great groups and great fishing are the best combination!!! Our Boat Builder’s Tournament Team had to change plans at the last minute which has suddenly opened us up several days this week – Give us a call if anyone is interested… an awesome opportunity to slide in on some great fishing!!!
Mahi Mahi has been the main course for us this past week… we had a few weather days and then a super nice class of fish with several citations!!! CONGRATULATIONS and a huge thank you to everybody!!! Lots of bill fish sightings and the TUNA are still around as well plus our first token Barracuda!! (Ceviche time!). A big shout out to our young anglers as well… it is tons of fun having the kids with us and getting the next generation hooked on this craziness is one of our passions! Welcome back to all our visitors! Our season has kicked off with a great start… thanks everybody!! We have a couple of weather days ahead of us but then will be back at as soon as the winds and seas settle…. We are full the rest of May but have days open starting June 3rd – Save your spot!! Let’s go fishing!!!
A quick catch up – fishing has been off the hook! Our offshore trips are smacking the fish and different everyday – TUNA and DOLPHIN (Mahi Mahi), TRIGGERS and TILES and even an early SAIL! Nearshore trips have found the RIBBONS, MACKEREL, SHARK, and BLUES! Summer is here and is the best time to get out there… bring the grown ups or bring the family – tons of fun and making memories!! We are wrapping up another fantastic Spring Turkey Season and looking so forward to FISHING SEASON!! May and June are hot COBIA months and the fish are showing up already… we have a few spots left but they are filling fast – please let us know asap if you need to save a date!! We have had one of the busiest and most fun winters! Exhausting but crazy rewarding, super fun, non-stop and never a dull moment 🙂 A huge thank you to all our hunters… you guys are family to us and we cannot tell you enough how much we appreciate and love you!! We miss everyone already 🙁 We kicked off the season out west and then got down to business back home with waterfowl, upland game hunts, winter boat maintenance and continuing construction on the new lodge (completely restored 1850 farmhouse…almost 3 years of work and finally getting to the end!). Our lodge is scheduled to be up and running for turkey season and we are really excited to stop building and start enjoying it! Upland Game Preserve Season continues until the end of March and we have had a blast starting up this new adventure! We had a soft opening last season and with private hunts this year we are well on our way – we still have some availability this year of anyone is interested in getting some shooting in before it’s back to the water… Fishing will start rolling next month with inland Rockfish and we start chasing Turkeys in April… then… COBIA season!! We are starting to fill days in May and June for the Fistful so please give us a call if you have days you want to save… it won’t be long before the winter is gone and sunny warm fishing days return!! The last 2 weeks have been full of great fishing and amazing charters! We have had a number of young anglers lately and what an impressive display of ability and enthusiasm from all of them – Every one of our kids jumped right into the fray and man… you can’t slow them down. Some are new to the game and some are already well on their way to becoming pros (B. Boys – you know who you are!!) – Awesome job everybody!! One of our goals is to create an experience for them (and their adults) that will turn into a life-long passion… it really gets your heart fired up to see that spark. Thank you so much to all our groups – Grown-Ups and Youngsters! *** A huge Thank You goes out to Capt. Jim on the HogWild and Capt. Troy on the Fowl Hooked for helping us juggle some of our groups during our unexpected quickie haul out and to all the gang down at Bluewater for pulling together and getting us up and running again – JP – we owe you… as usual!! Thank you so much…. I wish I could have seen you on that lift!! ***
Last but not least – we do have some days open for the next few weeks – the Fistful gets a break starting September 17th this year so let us know if you want to get out there before we turn to the ducks! The Billfish are starting to show… the dolphin are here on the Full Day trips… the Big Drum are hanging around… the Mackerel are snappin… the blues are snappin…the Jacks are snappin… the weather is beautiful… Let’s go Fishing!!
Happy Memorial Day weekend to everyone! This is the official kick off to our summer season and we are so happy to be back at it! We are in full swing after some weather days last week and the fishing has been awesome. Our Cobia season is now open until September 30th with a 4 fish boat limit everyday (A huge thank you to a few local heroes for their enormous time and effort in fighting to stop the season closure)… the dolphin have been snapping and the Cobia are showing… we even got into a nice Spanish bite on a quickie fun family trip late one afternoon (plus the kiddo’s first nice Cobia… Thank you Casey and Louie!!). Thanks so much to all our early groups for cranking up the season start with a ton of fun and great fish!! June is filling fast so give us a shout… let’s go fishing 🙂
A huge congratulations to James and Linda – What a catch!!!! First time out for Cobia and they bring in 2 studs… 81 and 73 pounds! The 81 pounder was 63 inches long – and going on the wall! Plus houndfish, albacore, bonita, King Mackeral bite, saw a sail, turtles, dolphin, oh my! It was wonderful to see you guys again – Can’t wait til September!!
Always a blast and never a dull moment with G! 2 days were on the book – one for cobia and one to head out for dolphin – Plenty of meat is headed back inland!! Thank you so much Gib… we can’t wait to see you again! 🙂
