Week long update :)

I apologize for the delay in reports… crazy busy this time of year plus the camera is currently MIA – needless to say I unfortunately do not have any NEARSHORE pictures to put up at this time 🙁  To update everyone:  the SPANISH MACKERAL bite has been incredible this week in addition to plenty of BLUEFISH providing tons of action and loads of fun!!  We have come across several COBIA as well on the nearshore trips – many making back to the dock and one heart-breaker that broke the line after an hour long fight… estimates on weight for the escapee have ranged from 80 to 100 lbs… bummer for the boys 🙁    The FULL DAY DEEP DROP/TROLLING trips have been awesome for DOLPHIN (The back up camera made it on this trip so I can post some evidence!)… several COBIA have been running with the dolphin schools and at times caught at the same time!!  Great weather and fantastic fishing have been the theme this week!!!  Trips are booking fast right now so please let us know if you have dates you want us to save… we have had several spots get booked out from under some of our groups lately that waited until the last minute – we hate to not get the chance to take everybody that wants to go!!

 

Nearshore Action Continues…

The relentless northeast wind has kept the fleet inside the inlet the last few days but that doesn’t slow down the fun!!  Plenty of light tackle action!!  Thanks everybody for a great day!!  The wind is scheduled to drop and shift… finally!!  Looks like the next several days will be wide open to get out and see whats happening off the beach… Yay for “light and variable!!” 🙂

Inshore Trip

The weather kept the Fistful boat inshore today… but that doesn’t stop the fun when you have a fantastic father/son team! John… Thank you so much!!  We are looking forward to next time… it was wonderful to have you both on the boat!

Back to the Cove

Back in the water and ready for the season! Shiny and even a fresh coat of bottom paint 🙂

 

This year we have added a new trip to the repertoire – a “Deep Water Bottom Fishing/Trolling Trip“.  This Extended Full Day trip is designed to allow for the time and fuel required to venture a bit further from the beach than we are able to do during the conventional NearShore trips.  This will provide for the opportunity to specifically target different species such as dolphin (mahi mahi) and bottom dwellers.  It is not a classic deep water gulfstream trip – more of an “in-between” and provides the experience of fishing for a wider selection of species in a budget-minded package… We will have the “Trips and Rates” page updated shortly to provide more information… Let’s go fishing!

Spring Haul Out

The Fistful is up for a quick spring haul out… getting ready for this year’s season!!  New zincs, some clean up, and a little wax and she’ll be back in the water ready to go 🙂  The days are getting longer and the warm summer fishing season is fast approaching… We are saving days already – give us a shout if you know your desired dates and we’ll get you on the book!  Thanks to everyone for all the support!!  We are looking forward to another awesome season with everybody!!

      

Fall Fishing

The summer crowds may be thinning out but this time of year fishing is still going strong!  We had a great bunch on the boat today to enjoy some light tackle nearshore action… Great weather and fiesty fish makes for a ton of fun!!  Thank you all so much!!

September 9 AM

With the inlet roaring this morning and only predicted to get more adventurous with the tide change, it was decided to stay in the sound today… Plenty of fun, sun, beautiful water and a nice class of blue fish plus some spanish mackerel to keep our main angler busy!  GREAT JOB MICHAEL!!  Thank you guys so much for a fantastic trip!!
