Looking back…
Looking back to September 28 in my memory bank of photos thinking about a change of seasons I thought this would sum up the day to the date. This was going to be September 28 2011 after a front much like this one..

… fishing continues to be great and the weather has been perfect.. Thanks everybody!!

Had the Corbo boys with us again today as well as Tony Corbos girlfriend..She’s never been fishing before today..Pretty good first fish for her catching a white marlin..We ended up with three whites and 3 nice dolphin.Thats a white and a dolphin for everyone..Clean fishing there folks. Thanks guys can’t wait for next time…
We had the rare opportunity to get to spend the day with one of our most special friends….Thank you so much Charles!!! Karl and I don’t get much chance to actually fish with each other these days… We don’t know how to act being back in the cockpit together! One of the best days ever 🙂 10 Whites!!! With unbelievable weather and sea conditions and incredible company… there is nothing that would have made this day any better. The marlin are still here… Now is the time to go if catching one of these marvelous creatures is on your list!!
This is the time of year that there is so much to do and so much to appreciate! True Carolina Blue skies show up as the humidity starts to drop and the nights cool down. The breeze during the day has a different feel to it… change is in the air! FISHING is phenomenal with the continuation of our epic late summer/early fall WHITE MARLIN bite and awesome nearshore fishing – the COBIA never disappeared… just dwindled a bit and are now showing back up as they start to move back out of the bay… not to mention the MACKEREL and BLUEFISH action. Even the TUNA are around Offshore!! With the kids back in school and the tourist numbers slowing down, the Fistful boat is not run quite so hard… she gets a day off here and there which means we get to spend more time to the west… hello tractor work! More mowing and draining, spraying and
planting… prepping for the fast approaching waterfowl season 🙂 We had a flock of BLUEWINGS (teal) show up already to usher in September. Time to confirm dates for the 2013 – 2014 hunting season and get in on the fall fishing action before it slows down!! We can’t wait to see everybody!!
With the fantastic weather we couldn’t stay at the dock on a day off…. hard not to take advantage of such incredible conditions!! We chose meat over glory for this trip… headed out in search of the TUNA bite! A moderate class of fish today but great action!! Yellowfin, Blackfin, and incredible purple topside to a bonita (cool to see!) Slick calm offshore and skirted a waterspout twisting just inland of the bridge… always a great time on the water 🙂 Thanks Mike and Casey!!!
