ROCKFISH on the way…

Time to start thinking about the BIG rock!  They are on the way…we are looking forward to this year’s arrival… This is always one of our favorite times of the year!  We have just a few days left available in January and several dates still open in February (but they are starting to fill up…)… Let us know as soon as possible so we can hold the date.  Our booking calender is still under construction so just email or call either number [ (252) 395 – 1907 or (252) 455 – 1595]  any time for more information…

Inland Rockfish

Rockfishing in the sound is picking up!  Lots of nice fish…plenty of action.  All our rockfish are caught with light tackle – trolling, casting, or jigging.  Light equipment adds to the excitement and what a meal these guys make!

In the box

Commercial day for us this time…Plenty of dolphin and some tuna as well.  Pretty day!

Late start…

Late start this morning… (what a sunrise)…

Dolphin!

The dolphin showed up in droves this day… always great action and incredible eating!  This is a fish we never get tired of seeing (or catching!)  Almost always plentiful somewhere in the warm waters of summer off our coast, these fish are amazingly athletic and can show up in schools numbering in the hundreds behind the boat.  Bailer size fish were the norm for us this season with several nice gaffers thrown in the mix.  Our trips departing both Hatteras and Oregon Inlets saw plenty of these guys all summer… always a great time!

Blue Marlin…

The Blue Marlin bite was not as prolific for us this season as it was for many but we will take all the bites we get!  Getting a nice blue one to the boat…especially on smaller tackle…is an accomplishment that any angler lucky enough to fight one of these big fish can be proud of.

Sailfish Summer

The billfish were the talk of the summer…we experienced phenomenal bites off the coast of North Carolina – Sailfish and White Marlin being the heavy hitters but plenty of Blue Marlin action as well.  Double and Triple hookups were not uncommon!  This kind of fishing makes for an adrenaline filled day and it is an amazing thing to just watch.  Leaps like this make it a “no-brainer” as to what is on the line…

Commercial Day: Oregon Inlet NC

Some people are really greedy… (haha!)  Thanks Dave!

Outer Banks Catch

Outer Banks Catch! This entire hook and line caught North Carolina fresh fish went to Kelly’s Restaurant on the Outer Banks. Thank you so much Mike for all your support… you keep local fisherman in business even when we don’t have charters and you are a model for others to follow by providing your customers with true, fresh, wild caught North Carolina seafood! This is what the Fistful does when we are not charter fishing… thanks to everybody that supports “Outer Banks Catch”!
