Tournament Time!!

It’s that time of year!!  The tournaments are in full swing and this week is the biggie at Pirates’ Cove… Good luck to all our Lady Anglers fishing the Alice Kelly Memorial Tournament today (Sunday… Go Fistful Girls!!) and another Good Luck to everyone in the Billfish Tournament!! (Go Team Fistful!!)  The marina will be a flurry of activity all week – fishing starts on Tuesday and will continue through Friday.  This is a PUBLIC EVENT and EVERYONE IS WELCOME! Fishing continues to be fantastic!

As we move into August the fishing continues to be crazy good… tons of variety on our Nearshore Days and the Tuna have stuck around all summer for our Offshore trips!! (That NEVER happens!!! yay!).  The billfish are starting to show as we move into August and their time to shine is coming fast!  We are fishing until September 19th this year so give us a hollar if you want to get on the books… we have some spots left but they are filling.  Thank you so much to all our groups and a special shout out to our youth anglers – you guys are the future!

AWESOME JULY!!

I am not sure where to start… the last half of July has provided an amazing variety of crazy fun fishing with so many great groups!!  We appreciate everyone so much and also appreciate the fantastic fishing that our area has to offer during these summer months… we are so thankful to be able to call the Outer Banks home.  Our trips have predominately been Nearshore the last few weeks and the species all across the board – Kingfish, Triggers, Tiles, Spanish mackerel (we had 2 6 pound plus citation Spanish in 1 week!! check out the pic below…), Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Albecore, Amberjack, Cobia, Red Drum, and more.  This time of year you never know what you will see out there and everyday can be different – so much fun!!  August is booking up quickly so please give us a call if you want to go… Time to go fishing!!!

   

July Fishing!

The last week has been full with half and 3/4 day trips – So much fun for everybody!!  The Red Drum have shown up to provide tons of Catch and Release action, the Spanish and King Mackerel fishing has been awesome, the Amberjacks gave one of our regular crews a great workout (no more gym before fishing next time Keith!!) and we’ve even seen a few dolphin on the short trips!  We got to take several fantastic youth anglers and had a blast with all our groups – thank you so much!!  One quick peek at some green and yellow starting to come together for fall… the next season will be here before we know it but until then it’s time to get on the water and catch em up!  Thanks again everybody!!

 

      

Happy 4th of July!!

It’s hard to believe we are already moving into July… so far the summer has been fantastic and the fishing incredible!  Tuna, Dolphin, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, Sea Bass and more… Thank you so much to all of our groups and a huge bucket of appreciation to Jim, Tom, Kelly, Dave, and all the crew getting us through an unexpected quick haul out – you guys are amazing and we would be lost without you… You have no idea how much we appreciate you! Thank you  🙂

June Fishing!

As we roll into mid June the fishing continues to be fantastic!  A mixed bag of trips and fish this past week – from Half Day Nearshore to Full Day Offshore… and everything in between.  Dolphin… Tuna… Mackerel… Blues… Tons of fun with awesome people!! Thanks everybody!!  The last 2 weeks of June are filling fast… give us a shout if you want to go!!

As we roll into June our fishing continues to be fantastic… The Tuna are still here but wont be for long!!  Don’t forget the Cobia and bottom fish, Mackerel and Bluefish… something different every day and so much fun.  Gib, Dickie, Mike, Bobbie and Dean and the boys – Thank you all so much!  We are so fortunate to have such great folks in our lives… you guys are awesome!

Summer is officially here!

The weather is awesome and the fishing has been fantastic!  This week’s full days have been filled with Dolphin, Tilefish, Tuna, Cobia, a Barracuda and the first Blue Marlin of the Season!  The Mackerel and bluefish are showing up and provide tons of fun (and fantastic dinners!) for our short trips… A huge Thank You to all our groups..  Plus we were graced with an awesome clean-up crew on Sunday – Thanks girls!

 

As we all bustle about with the start of the Summer Season we would like to stop for just a minute and remember all the men and women that have made the ultimate sacrifice so that the rest of us can live in freedom… Thank you.  Everyone be safe and enjoy the holiday weekend!

From Cobia to Dolphin to Spanish Mackerel to Tilefish and more…. this week’s theme has been variety!!  Our Cobia are the main target this time of year but who can resist chasing the rest?!?!  🙂  We have already had tons of great trips with awesome anglers – thank you so much to all our seasoned salts and to our new group too (Go Duke!)  Great job everybody!  Let’s go fishing!
